Mr. Vance’s 15-plus year legal career has included roles as a corporate attorney with premier firms in Utah, Nevada, and Hawaii, as in-house general counsel to a private-equity-backed holding company and its innovation-based subsidiaries, and as an adjunct faculty teaching entrepreneurship to business, law, and engineering students.

More than just a lawyer, Mr. Vance often serves as an extension of the executive team for his clients as outside general counsel, gaining an in-depth understanding of their business, industry, objectives, and obstacles, providing business-minded legal solutions, and acting as a connector and strategic resource dedicated to their success.

Mr. Vance has extensive transactional experience spanning the entire business lifecycle, with particular expertise in angel and venture capital financings and other private offerings, crowdfunding, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions on both the sell-side and buy-side.

In addition, Mr. Vance often serves as a single point of contact for his clients, facilitating collaboration from other attorneys within the firm when needed on matters critical to emerging growth companies, such as patents, trademarks, licensing, tax, employment, cybersecurity and data privacy, as well as litigation and dispute resolution.

When not wearing his lawyer hat, Mr. Vance is an avid skier, hiker, camper, and mountain biker. Prior to law school, Mr. Vance was a full-time software programmer for a NASDAQ-listed telecom company and also an e-infrastructure startup funded by Bain Capital and Accel Partners.
