Parsons Behle & Latimer attorney Lisa A. Kirschner has been elected by the American Exploration and Mining Association (AEMA) as an incoming board of trustees member. AEMA is the recognized national voice for exploration, the junior mining sector and maintaining access to public lands and represents the entire mining life cycle, from exploration through production, reclamation and closure. AEMA was the first U.S.-based mining association to adopt a Statement of Environmental Principles to communicate the modern mining industry’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.

“I am looking forward to working again with AEMA and its outstanding leadership,” says Kirschner. “I had this privilege several years ago and have since been a supporting member of AEMA. I appreciate and look forward to contributing to the important work they do.”

As one of the most experienced water quality attorneys in the Intermountain West, Kirschner has worked with numerous industries including the mining industry on permitting, enforcement and compliance issues at both the state and federal levels.

For the past 22 years, Kirschner has been a shareholder of Parsons and a member of the Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources legal team.

Kirschner writes and speaks extensively on water quality-related topics. Her term as AEMA board member will run through 2023.
