David Hall has a nationwide consumer financial services and commercial litigation practice. He oversees and manages litigation throughout the United States on behalf of financial institutions.

Biography

David R. Hall is a shareholder in Parsons Behle & Latimer’s Litigation practice team and chair of the firm's Mortgage Servicing Law Section. He previously served as co-chair of the firm's Business and Commercial Litigation practice team. He maintains a general litigation practice in Utah and Nevada. Mr. Hall has represented Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and individuals before state courts, federal courts and in arbitrations. He has significant experience assisting clients with banking and financial services litigation, commercial contract disputes, real property disputes and personal injury claims.

In his consumer finance practice, Mr. Hall manages litigation throughout the United States related to foreclosures, lender liability and all aspects of mortgage servicing. He has extensive experience defending financial services companies in cases involving state and federal consumer protection statutes, the Truth-In-Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and claims under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).

Mr. Hall graduated from the University of Utah College of Law, where he was a William H. Leary Scholar and executive editor of the Journal of Land, Resources, & Environmental Law. He was selected to be a member of the law school's national moot court team that won the regional moot court competition.

Prior to joining Parsons, Mr. Hall was a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Utah and spent two summers in San Francisco, California clerking for a civil litigation firm. In 2004, he took a one-year leave of absence from the firm to serve as a law clerk to the Honorable Dale A. Kimball of the United States District Court, District of Utah. Mr. Hall is a past chair of the firm's recruiting committee.
