Ashley C. Nikkel is a member of the Litigation, Trials & Appeals and Environmental and Natural Resources practice groups at Parsons Behle & Latimer.

Before joining Parsons Behle & Latimer, Ms. Nikkel received her bachelor’s degree in political science and history at the University of Nevada, Reno, graduating summa cum laude. At UNR, she served as the Chief Justice of the Associated Students of the University of Nevada’s Judicial Council. After college, Ms. Nikkel attended the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Ms. Nikkel was an articles editor for the Nevada Law Journal, which published her article “Painting Ourselves Into a Corner: the Fundamental Paradoxes of Modern Warfare in Al Maqaleh v. Gates.” Ms. Nikkel participated in Boyd’s Appellate Clinic and was selected to argue a direct criminal appeal to a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also competed in a national moot court competition as a member of Boyd’s invitation-only moot court team, the Society of Advocates. Ms. Nikkel received the CALI Excellence Award for the highest grades in Torts, Lawyering Process II, Lawyering Process III: Appellate Advocacy, Federal Public Lands & Natural Resources, Appellate Clinic, American Legal History, Water Law, and Capital Punishment. Ms. Nikkel graduated from Boyd summa cum laude, receiving both the Clinic Legal Education Association Award and the Scribe Award from the American Society of Legal Writers.

Following law school, Ms. Nikkel worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Mark Gibbons of the Nevada Supreme Court. Ms. Nikkel also clerked for the Honorable Janet J. Berry of the Second Judicial District Court in Reno, Nevada. She was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 2012 and currently serves as the Northern Nevada Liaison for the William S. Boyd School of Law Alumni Board of Directors.
